We are entering our last full week of school and tempers are short, but everyone is excited for summer break. Our summer break plans are as follows:
Chris and Dad will be going on a trekking trip through Northern India, Nepal and Bhutan. Some of the highlights of their trip wil be the Laya-tasa hot springs, and Ladakh, home of the highest motorable road in the world.
Mom and I will be going back to the land of the free, the home of the brave. Yes, you got it right, we are going to Ossining, New York. We will also be taking my good friend Sanskar Bhattacharya to help teach a workshop at SHPAC(Sleepy Hollow Performing Arts Center) on Indian dance and music.

It's that time again... Anxiety is in the air, exams are starting, only two more weeks until school ends. More will come next week!

Hello all-
Wow... One quarter gone already? How time flies when you're having fun... I have had a great time so fer this year and have made many new friends. Just recently, on quarter break, I spent some time with our family friends the Manns. My mom and dad went to Delhi, while my brother and I joined a large group consisting of about 3 or 4 families to Amritsar. More will come on that trip this week. Well...
School has started and along with the homework has come the dreary, wet monsoon. The rain makes the monkeys angry and leeches inhabit the pathway. It rains just about everyday, so if you don't bring an umbrella to school, you'll get soaked on the way home. And with everything so wet and mildewy, all of our clothes have to be put through the dryer twice.
August also brings Indian Independence Day. A day for national dress, chai (tea), and Indian food. We raise the flag and sing the National Anthem in the morning, and then other various patriotic activities are planned for both students and staff throughout the day.
Another thing that comes and goes with each new Woodstock school year is the students. Old friends leave, and new friends come. It is the never-ending cycle of an international boarding school. This year is an especially big change for the middle school beacuse they have absolutely filled up their dormitory with the max amount of students possible. This means simple things such as the lines for dinner are longer and the basketball court is always jam-packed after school with hot, sweaty middle school boarders.
And, of course a big school start-off is not complete with pictures. Take a look!

NOOOOOOOOO! School has returned! =(... They have started the bells up again, so that means only one more week. Wish me luck!

Nothing really new to report other than rain, rain and more RAIN! but, well, I guess that it will pass by late september... =]. Anyway...
